Roberta was dearly loved by her family including her three children; George Donald Clark and wife Pat of Houston, TX, daughter Carol Williams of Kyle, TX and James Clark and wife Karen of Pflugerville, TX; nine grandchildren; Airon, Brian, Briana, George, Heather, Kristen, Martha, Rebecca and Travis; thirteen great grandchildren, Afton, Benjamin, Claire, Jackson, Jaqueline, Charlie, Hunter, Landon, Melissa, Parker, Raegan, Riley Ann and Samantha; and sisters, Willadean and Martha.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Miles and Stella Irene Curtis; husband, George Louis Clark; brothers, Harry, Ben, Lewis, Warren and David; sisters, Phillis, Nina and Theda; and son-in-law Ralph.
Roberta was born on October 20, 1922 to Robert Miles and Stella Irene Curtis in Lincoln, Arkansas. She attended school in Arkansas where she met her high school sweetheart, George Louis Clark who she married in 1947. She graduated from Draughon’s Business College in Springfield, MO. She was a proud member of the Greatest Generation and served our country in the US Navy in the WAVES during World War II.
Roberta was a dedicated wife and the caregiver and protector of her family and prioritized family above all else. Her love was reciprocated by family members as her home was the center for all holidays and family gatherings. In her free time, she enjoyed activities such as sewing, quilting and Sudoku puzzles. She also enjoyed traveling to visit her sisters in Arkansas and reminiscing about growing up on the family farm.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at Cella Bella Senior Services & Hospice for their love, care and support for Roberta.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2021 in Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park. Interment with military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy.
