Robert was born in Mount Zion, GA on August 6, 1941. Robert attended Brown Community High School in Atlanta, GA and graduated May 24, 1959. After high school he enlisted in the Air Force and worked as a morse code intercept operator for four years. He also worked for the Federal Government after his military service. Robert married Shirley on May 14, 1966 and enjoyed married life as well as raising his two sons, Brett and Chad. Camping, Boy Scouts and sports with his sons were some of their most precious times together. His family was his world.
In his free time, Robert enjoyed reading historical novels, working on family genealogy on his computer, watching classic movies and just being with family.
He will be remembered for his love and focus of family, first and foremost. Robert was intelligent and kind, and while he had a quiet demeanor, you could always count on him for friendship, love and support. Robert loved technology and computers, which was a skillset and hobby that both of his sons also possessed. Staying up on the latest information technology kept him focused and driven in his later years.
