Rebecca Arroyo Navarro

Rebecca Arroyo Navarro of Austin, Texas, aged Forever 21, stepped into her eternal home on the night of Tuesday, August 1st, 2023. The Lord Jesus Christ she proclaimed faithfully while she was here on earth, she now sees face to face. And we are certain she heard Him personally speak the words to her that He said in the parable recorded in Matthew 25:23: “Well done, My good and faithful servant. Enter now into the joy of your Lord.”

Born Wednesday, December 10, 1952 in Austin, Texas, Becky grew up in a large family – being the 7th-born in a family of 8 children, then graduated from Johnston High School in 1971. Upon graduation, she began her professional life at the Texas State Coordinating Board where she worked for 16 years and met many of her lifelong friends. Through that experience, she discovered her talent for computers and enrolled in Southwest School of Electronics and earned an Associate’s Degree - which led to her career at IBM where she stayed for 18 years before retiring. Becky could never stay still for too long, so she “came out of retirement” to work for Allstate Insurance and hosting a kiosk inside Costco representing custom blinds for several years.

She was constantly active in DIY projects, Zumba with her “peeps”, participating in multiple 5K’s & 10K’s to benefit charity, supporting multiple charitable organizations annually such as the Red Dress Event, and The Capitol 10k. Her faith was very important to her. She never missed a day of talking with God through reading His word and prayer, reading several daily devotionals such as “Jesus Calling”, and always lit a candle and prayed for anyone who needed a miracle of any sort.

She is preceded in death by her father, Carlos D. Navarro, her mother Maria A. Navarro; her sister, Eva A. Navarro, and her nephew Tim Navarro.

She is survived by her lifelong partner, Gina Willett, her siblings: Carlos Navarro and wife Connie, Lupe Navarro, Joel Navarro and wife Selma, Manual Navarro and wife Terry, Connie Rangel and husband Albert, Ruben Navarro and wife Arleen; nephews and nieces Charles Navarro, Phillip Navarro and wife Tina, Randy Navarro, Adam Navarro Martinez and wife Melissa, Aletheia Navarro Martinez and wife Mia, Joel Alfred Navarro, Jefferey Navarro and wife Veronica, Manual Anthony Navarro, Orlando Navarro and wife Vanessa, Gilbert Hernandez, Christina Maria Eleanor and husband Samuel, Michelle Stewart and husband Shamal, Tony Navarro, Ruben Andreas Navarro and wife Bianca Nino, Jacob Navarro, and numerous great nieces and nephews

Rebecca (Beck, Becky, Becca) was the most selfless person you could ever know. She lived a life of putting others before herself. She was very technically gifted, and as a way of serving others (and occasionally just for her own benefit), she used her gifts to various projects around her home, work on cars, computers, and anything she thought she could do – and never, EVER let anything “beat” her…whatever it took! She would oftentimes go to extreme measures to make sure that whatever she set out to do, she completed it to perfection. She had a garage full of tools and an office full of computer parts and gadgets, knew where each one was and what each of them were used for – and most importantly, she would gladly either help you repair your car, computer, tech issue or teach you how to do it yourself! Everyone knew they could come to her for help solving their problems with any modern technology, their cars, or even their television, “Hollywood” or “true crime” questions!

She was known for her “million-dollar smile” and would always show it, even in the most difficult circumstances, even to the very end of her life here on earth. Many times during her final days here with us, someone would say to her “Let me see that million-dollar smile!” and she would always comply!

She is a true, very rare treasure who is deeply loved and missed by everyone whose life she touched. Until we see her again, life will never be the same!

The family would like to thank Lauri Arthur, her hospice nurse, as well as all of the wonderful staff from Accent Care, Tyler Strong and the staff at Southpark Meadows where she spent her final days, and all of the doctors, nurses and staff from Texas Oncology Austin for the care and compassion they showed Rebecca over the last 7 months.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service celebrating Becky’s life in the chapel at Cook-Walden / Forest Oaks Funeral Home on Tuesday morning, August 8, 2023 at 9:00am.

A brief Graveside Interment Service to immediately follow at the adjacent Memorial Park.
