Raymond Thaddeus Henry, age 75, left this earth on Thursday, February 13, 2014, after a 3 month battle with brain cancer. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. Raymond was born in Three Rivers, Texas on October 14, 1938, to Linden Thad and Susie Henry.
He grew up in Austin, Texas, and graduated from McCallum High School. After high school he became a member of IBEW Local 520 and worked in the electrical industry for 42 years. Raymond was always known for his ability to fix anything, but he was not able to fix his last challenge with cancer.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Katherine Ewing.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Frances Hubnik Henry, his sons Thad and Greg; daughter-in-law Brenda; grandchildren Lindsey, Lee, and Linden; and siblings Martha Sue Grona, Mary Jo Hennig, and Boyd Henry. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Bobby, Terry, and Jerry Grona, Bryn Henry, Wayne Pease and Bobby Schmidt.
The family wants to give a special thank you to the staff at Summit at Westlake, Seton Central Hospital, and Central Texas Rehabilitation Center for their care of Raymond during his illness.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, on Sunday, the 16th of February 2014, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
There will be a noon reception in the church hall prior to the Funeral Mass at one o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, the 17th of February 2014, at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church, 7601 Burnet Road, Austin, Texas 78757. Interment will follow in Austin Memorial Park, Austin, Texas.
