Phil was born in White Oak, KY on September 26, 1937 and graduated from Owingsville High School. He married Louise Combs on May 3, 1959 and began an accomplished 34-year career with IBM, during which he moved his family from Kentucky in 1965 to build their new home in Austin, TX. He attended Pace University in New York City, and St. Edwards University in Austin, where he earned his BBA in Business Management.
Phil was an accomplished athlete in basketball, baseball, and football, and he actively coached and supported numerous youth sports leagues, equestrian events, motocross, and he enjoyed boating and waterskiing on Lake Travis. He was a big lover of animals, and had many dearly loved pets over the years including Duke, Duchess, Sean, Top Cat, Meow Mix, Max, Walter, Prince, Potter and Paisley.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Lee and Violet Bailey Williams, sister Era Alice Williams Fraley, and brothers Billy Nelson Williams, Kenneth Shirley Williams, and Joseph Bailey Williams.
Phil is survived by his wife of 56 years, Louise Williams, daughter Lisa Sutter (Marty), son Keith Williams (Mary Viramontes/Williams), son Kevin Williams (Shelly), his grandsons Blake Sutter, Michael Steele and Matthew Williams, numerous relatives, friends, neighbors and loved ones. His warm smiles, wonderful humor, and gentle guidance will be dearly missed.
