Pedro "Pete" Guerrero

Pedro Guerrero, age 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the Concho Health and Rehabilitation Center in Eden, TX. He was born on October 22, 1945 in Weslaco, Texas to Florentino Guerrero Sr. and Leonor Guerrero. He married Maria Alicia Salinas on August 22, 1965 in Muleshoe, Texas. They resided together in Austin, Texas. They were married for 53 years and had a son and four daughters… Pete Guerrero Jr, Vickie Guerrero Rodriguez, married to Adam Rodriguez, Leslie Guerrero, Cindy Guerrero and Stephanie Guerrero Cuffee, married to Shawn L. Cuffee. Pedro has six granddaughters, Hailey Marie Cuffee, Miranda Nicole Rodriguez, Areli Cedillo, Haydn Marley “Cheeky” Cuffee, Madison Elise Guerrero and Aaliyah Nikaye Tillis.

He is preceded in death by his son Pete Guerrero Jr.; his parents, Florentino Guerrero and Leonor Guerrero; his siblings Idelfonso Guerrero, Beatriz Solis, Virginia Rodriguez and Elias Guerrero. He is survived by twelve siblings: Antonio Guerrero, Florentino Guerrero Jr., Mary Ramos, Angie Nunez, David Guerrero, Mike Guerrero, Dora Sierra, Daniel Guerrero, Isabel Vickers, Melissa Thompson, Lena Estrada and Martha Udin.

Before his struggle with dementia Pete received endless honors and certificates in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M and worked at Lower Colorado River Authority for many years.

He enjoyed gardening, as he had the greenest thumb in Austin. He loved fishing, camping, trips to the beach, woodworking and bird watching. He devoted many hours to writing sermons and devotionals as well.

Funeral Service held at Cook Walden Funeral Home: 6100 N. Lamar Blvd. Austin, Texas 78752 on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at 1:00 pm.

Committal Service held at Onion Creek Memorial Park: 11610 Chapel Lane, Austin, Texas 78652 on Monday, April 22, 2019 at 11:00 am.
