Patricia Joy Hall Roberts went to be with her Heavenly Father on December 4, 2021, at the age of 94. Patricia was born on October 10, 1927 in Austin, Texas to her parents Myrtle Mae Hall and Fred H. Hall. All of her life except for a few years in Fort Worth and College Station she lived in Austin, and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School.
She was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church where she loved to sing in the choir and a member of Rose Croix Eastern Star. Pattye was also active in many organizations including Bromeliad Society of Austin, Capital Area Canary Club, and Reagan Raiders Booster Club with her husband Bob.
Pattye met Robert Lehman Roberts, after their first date he told her he was going to marry her. Mom's response was "You could hang clothes on that line!" They married on February 2, 1946 and they were married for 61 years. The young married couple moved to College Station for Bob to go to Texas A&M. After two semesters, Pattye and Bob decided to return back to Austin to start their family. Pattye gave birth to three children Susan Joy, Robert Jr., and Oran.
Pattye was a devoted mother and friend to many. She shared her smile and sense of humor with all she came in contact with. She is remembered with love and admiration by her family and others.
Pattye was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert Lehman Roberts, and her brother Fred H. Hall, Jr.
Pattye is survived by her daughter Susan Joy Belisle; Robert Lehman Roberts Jr. and wife Sharon Hardin Roberts; and Oran Sims Roberts and wife Kimber Lee Van Beck. Patricia had six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two nieces.
For years Pattye was employed at the Texas Employment Commission and rose to the head of her department. Pattye wrote the guide for Trade Readjustment Unemployment Compensation that was used in six states.
After retirement Pattye enjoyed several joint ventures with her husband, growing bromeliads for competition, raising dogs for shows, breeding canaries for international contests, and traveling. As active as she was, Pattye made time for her family and friends. Gatherings like Thanksgiving and Christmas were special for the whole family. At Christmas until her later years Pattye would sing in her church choir and always sang "O Holy Night" at Christmas as a soloist.
