Patricia Ann Victery Ferguson passed away on Wednesday evening September, 15, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her family, in Austin, Texas. She was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on August 20, 1939, to Ursula and Harry Victery. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather William Deakins and her nephew Harry C. Victery, III. She is survived by her beloved husband and friend of thirty-eight years, Walter “Keene” Linscott Ferguson, her two daughters Mallory Morris Leitner and Ursula Morris Comeaux, four stepchildren, Walter Keene Linscott Ferguson Jr., Jamie Dewar Ferguson, Hallie Ferguson Smith, Joseph Parnell Ferguson, and ten grandchildren, William, Avery, Rachel, Walt, Claire, Max, Hallie Fei, Alex, Paulina and Phillip. She is also survived by her brother, Harry “Bo” C. Victery, Jr.
Patricia was raised in Houston, Texas where she was a cheerleader for St Anne Catholic School. The family later moved to Winnetka, Illinois where she attended North Shore Country Day School. Following graduation, she returned to Texas to attend The University of Texas and pledged Pi Beta Phi. Patsy was a long time resident of Austin where she lived an active life excelling in team tennis, gourmet cooking and field trial competition with her trusty black lab, “Medina”. She leaves behind many dear friends in Houston, Austin, and Ft. Davis.
Monday, September 27, 2010, services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, followed by a reception at Tarry House in celebration of her life. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of Austin or to The Humane Society of Jeff Davis County.
