Norma Joyce Reagan Wallace came in to this world on February 14, 1924 as the youngest daughter of Fenner and Jennie Reagan of Waco, TX. She left again after gracing us all for 90 years, on July 6, 2014. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, David Carroll Wallace of Leander, and three children, Carolyn Hutto, Joe Wallace, and Stephen Wallace, along with their respective spouses, Charles Hutto, Nancy Keith Wallace, and Debra Peavy Wallace. Norma helped begin a long line of offspring including 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and even 6 great-great grandchildren. She started her adult life as a 19 year old secretary on an army base in Bryan, TX, where she met a young soldier named David. She soon became a wife, mother and housewife. When economic needs required, she became an employee of the Texas Department of Public Safety, where she served with distinction for over 25 years. After all of those years of taking care of her husband, children, and faithfully doing her job as a public employee, she finally got to gather the fruits of her efforts in 1986, when she retired. During her long and eventful retirement, she fought and beat cancer twice, traveled to Europe, and throughout North America, and hosted family, friends, and countless descendants in her home on top of the hill. She was never one to grab attention or take center stage, but was always the solid and loving mom, wife and grandmother on whom all of us could rely. She will be missed as she graces heaven now, instead of earth. Norma chose to be cremated. Her memorial service will be held at Cook- Walden Funeral Home 6100 North Lamar, in Austin at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 12, 2014, with a reception to follow at Threadgill’s at 6416 North Lamar Blvd.
