It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mary Margaret Evans, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Mary was born on June 23, 1941 in Milwaukee, WI, and passed away, with her two daughters by her side, on September 10, 2023 in Austin, TX.
Mary was a devoted follower of Christ, and her faith was the foundation of her life. She was a loyal friend and family member, and was always willing to listen and lend a helping hand. Mary was kind-hearted and generous, and had a special place in her heart for animals. In her younger years, she loved photography and painting. In retirement, she always had a knitting project, or two, and a puzzle close by, and she had a green thumb, just like her father. She was a breast cancer survivor and was an inspiration to all those who watched her overcome that battle.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Denise Nethery (Mike Finke) and Jennifer Weinberg (Richard); five grandchildren, Dylan, Phoebe, and Chloe Nethery, Evan and Hayes Weinberg; two nieces Peggy Adams Frisbie and Suzanne Adams Moyle.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Dr. Leon M. Adams; her brother, David Adams; and her son-in-law Guy Nethery.
Mary was an incredible woman who touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on in our hearts forever.
A service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held on Friday, September 15 at 11:00 am at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home, 5416 Parkcrest Drive, Austin, TX 78731. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Austin Humane Society or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
We invite you to share your memories of Mary with us, so that we can continue to honor her life.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.wcfishnorth.com for the Evans family.
