Mary C. Dean

Mary Cunningham Dean of Austin, TX, formally of Winnsboro, SC, passed away on August 1, 2023, at the age of 72 after a courageous, 2-year battle, with Stage 4 Uterine Cancer. She was born on January 9, 1951, in Winnsboro, SC, to Robert and Louise Cunningham where she grew up until she met and fell in love with the love of her life Stephen Dean whom she moved with to Austin, TX.

Mary retired from Texas Parks and Wildlife where she worked in their Human Resources Department.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life Stephen Dean Sr., her sisters Judy, Wanda and Debra, and her parents Robert and Louise Cunningham.

She is survived by her children; Kristina Dean, Brandy Chandler (DeRance), Amanda Tyler (Steven) and Stephen Dean Jr. (Courtney). Grandchildren: Wyatt Chandler, Aidan Chandler, Brendan Tyler, Paige Tyler, Liam Chandler, Campbell Dean, and Chance Tyler. Great-grandchild: Mason Tyler. Her nephew Terry Cunningham, her brother Robert C. Cunningham, many other nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A visitation for Mary on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749 with a rosary service to follow at 7:00 PM.

The funeral mass will take place on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Rd, Austin, TX 78749, with a reception to follow at the St. Catherine of Siena Parish Hall. The committal will take place at 12:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749.
