Shelly was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend whose humor, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born Mary Michael (Shelly) Priour on September 13, 1943 to Mary and Eddie Priour in Corpus Christi, Shelly deeply loved her family above all else and created a welcoming home filled with laughter and love. Shelly is preceded in death by her mother and father, and her sister Nancy Pabst.
Shelly is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, John; her son, Dallas Baker (Marla); her daughter, Diane Stone (Morgan); and three grandchildren, Paris Vance (Ryan), William Baker and Griffin Becker.
Shelly's life was defined by her extended family, a spirit of generosity and love, and strong sense of church service. She touched the lives of many wherever she lived. As a young girl in Falls City, Texas, she and her sister Nancy played organ, piano and sang in church daily. She continued worshiping in choirs most of her adult life in Oxford, MS, and Fort Worth, often taking her choir performances to New York, Ireland and Italy, among other beautiful venues. Her passion for choral music and her love for her church families will continue in her legacy of the relationships she had and memories she created with those she loved.
A celebration of Shelly's life will be held on December 13, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Oak Hill United Methodist Church, 7815 US-290, Austin. All who knew Shelly are invited to join the family in honoring her memory and the remarkable life she led.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Oak Hill United Methodist Church - Music Fund, 7815 Highway 290 W., Austin, TX 78736 in Shelly's memory.
