She was born August 9, 1930, an only child to two very loving parents. After WW II, the family moved to Austin, and Marion graduated from Austin High School in 1948. She met her future husband, Herbert Prellop, at Grace Lutheran Church and within a year she was baptized, confirmed and married at Grace. She spent the next 20 years raising four headstrong children, yet she never forgot Mark Stephen Prellop - the child she lost to birth defects shortly after his birth. Once her kids graduated from High School, Marion fulfilled a lifelong desire by enrolling in and graduating from the University of Texas. When she retired from her career in Interior Design, she became a professional certified florist and started a floral shop in the family business, Crestview Minimax IGA. After her husband died in 1991, she took a more active role in the business. Everyone was greeted with her smile as they entered “Minimax.”
Marion loved her family, her pets, ballroom dancing, dinners and traveling with her Mom and her dear friends, the Stuemke and Pabor families. She was able to share her faith with many during her years facilitating Redeemer small groups and leading Bible Study Fellowship discussion groups.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Irene Stephenson, her husband of 42 years, Herbert (Joe) Prellop, and two sons, Mark Stephen Prellop and Michael John Prellop. She is survived by Ronnie and Barbara Prellop, Nancy and Roy Carrizales, Debra and Alan Merry, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Auberge in Cedar Park for the loving care shown to Marion during her journey with dementia.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 15 at 11:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1500 Anderson Lane.
Memorial gifts may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, for the Louis Pabor Endowment Fund.
