Marilyn was born in Oklahoma City in 1930 and her family moved to Agua Dulce, Texas during her high school years. After high school, she attended A & I University and stayed thru all summers as she liked Kingsville so much. While working at the Celanese Chemical plant she met and married her husband Boyce, and enjoyed 45 years of happiness. They traveled the world together in the military while raising 2 daughters. She loved England and made many trips to small churches with her friends to make brass rubbings of old historic tombs.
They also lived in Germany, New Mexico and finally moved to Austin in 1966 where she began a career at IRS which spanned over 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of Manchaca United Methodist Church and she served as president of the Onion Creek Club Ladies Association. She loved to entertain, play bridge and golf with her friends and husband. And of course she loved her grandchildren. The bridge party conversations always started with health, travel and grandkids in that order.
She is preceded in death by her husband Boyce Beverly; sister, Vernalee Ely and brother, Gale Cable.
Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Trish Birdwell and Susan Aranda; grandsons, Blake Birdwell and wife Sophie, Tyson Birdwell, and Noah Aranda.
