Margie Carlson Foster

Mrs. Margie Carlson Foster was born at her family’s home in Manor, Texas on January 6, 1927 to Egner Gustaf and Emma Shuberg Carlson. The only child went to her heavenly home exactly 94 years later, on January 6, 2021 in Austin, Texas.

Margie enjoyed her work at Austin Concrete Works and Del Valle ISD, where she worked until she retired. Upon retirement, she volunteered at Holy Cross Hospital and Austin Bergstrom Airport. Her love of volunteering continued as a member of the Shriners’ wives’ organization, the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America (LOSNA).

She was preceded in death by husbands Tony Foster and Ed Wade; her daughter Anne Peterson Riley and son Mark Peterson. Margie is survived by her son Doyle Peterson, wife Pamela, and Mark’s widow Dolores Peterson as well as and 6 Grandchildren and 11 Great-grandchildren: Blaine Peterson, his wife Jenny and daughter Genevie; Corby Peterson, his wife Lauren and daughters Libby, Belle, and Blaire; Britt Peterson, his wife Kelly, their children Blake, Ellie, Campbell, Graham and Tatum; Marshall Peterson, his wife Michelle and children Miles and Molly; Tony Peterson and Annalisa Peterson.

We would like to thank all the staff at Watermark Memory Care and Magnolia Hospice for their thoughtful and loving care for Margie. Due to the pandemic, the services will be limited to a small family graveside farewell.
