Margaret Singleton Leigh passed away on Monday, February 13, 2006 in Austin, Texas. She was born Sena Margaret Singleton to Floyd and Lucile Singleton in Ft. Worth, Texas on July 6, 1918. Margaret grew up in Kerrville, Texas and married George Edward (Jiggs) Leigh on December 24, 1941 in Reno, Nevada. She was predeceased by her husband in August, 1988, her parents and her brother, Daniel M. Singleton. She is survived by her beloved children, William Scott (Bill) Leigh and wife, Karen of Breckenridge, Colorado, Lucy Leigh (Linda) Fichtner and husband Murray Fichtner of San Antonio and Nancy Leigh Warren and husband Gary of Austin. She also leaves seven grandchildren and spouses, Scott Leigh and wife, DAnn, Mark Leigh, Jason Leigh, Mindy Griggs and husband Gene, Chip Fichtner and wife, Candy, Courtney Warren and Chris Warren. She loved being involved in all their lives and all will greatly miss Gram. Five great-grandchildren Morgan and Matthew Leigh, Jack Leigh, Haleigh Griggs and Luke Fichtner also survive. Other survivors are brother, Floyd E. Singleton and wife Noreen of Vancouver, Washington, sister-in-law Margaret Singleton of Arlington, Texas, two nieces and one nephew. Margaret and Jiggs raised their family in Kerrville and Houston, where both were involved in real estate and home building. Her family admired her ability to stay close with her many friends of all ages and backgrounds. Margaret can best be remembered for the wise counsel and loving care she gave her family and friends. Margaret and her family would like to thank her many friends and neighbors in the Lakeway community for their friendship and care over the past 12 years. She was truly blessed with a beautiful community of friends, who enabled her to stay in her home. Ingrid Toebes and Tami Erba also provided support and friendship. The family will receive friends at a reception at Margarets home from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 19th. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2006 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
