Lt. Clay Crabb

Clay was born in Vermillion, South Dakota on October 17, 1970, the son of Douglas Crabb and Connie Hubert Crabb. Clay and his two younger siblings grew up in Harlingen, Texas. Clay graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in 1993.

He is a 19-year veteran of law enforcement working four years with the City of San Angelo Police Department, and the past 15 years with the Austin Police Department. Clay joined the Austin Police Department in July 1998 and was recently promoted serving as Operations Lieutenant. His sudden passing has affected many in his community and among his first responder family.

Clay married the love of his life, Anne Marburger Crabb, on February 15, 2003. Together they have three beautiful children, Harrison (9), Megan (7) and Ronin (4).

Clay was a devoted family man who always put his family first. He was an active member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Austin. Clay loved being a police officer and serving others. He was well respected among his fellow officers as that was his second family. Clay enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, being outdoors, and practical jokes. You could always count on Clay to be prepared and ready as he was always there for those that needed him. His unique sense of humor & sharp wit will be missed greatly.

Clay is survived by his wife, Anne Marburger Crabb and their three children, Harrison, Megan, and Ronin of Dripping Springs, TX; his father, Douglas Crabb of Mason, TX; his sister, Hollie Osbourn and her husband Conard of Round Rock, TX; his brother, Dr. Benjamin Crabb and his wife Andrea of El Paso, TX; his paternal grandmother, Wilma Crabb of Kingsley, IA; his maternal grandmother, Agatha (Rosalie) Hubert of Vermillion, SD; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Barbara Marburger of Austin, TX; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Judy Marburger of San Antonio, TX. In addition, Clay has many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and of course, his beloved APD family.

Clay is preceded in death by his mother, Connie Hubert Crabb; his paternal grandfather, Cecil Crabb; and his maternal grandfather, Laurence Hubert.

Visitation will be from 6 pm until 8 pm, Sunday, October 20th, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 W. William Cannon Drive, Austin.

Funeral services will be 10 am, Monday, October 21st, at Bannockburn Baptist Church, 7100 Brodie Lane, Austin. Interment with full police honors will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Cemetery on William Cannon Drive.
