KENNETH WAYNE SCHROEDER Kenneth Wayne Schroeder, a resident of Austin, Texas, passed away at the age of 51 on Tuesday, October, 21 at 8:35 P.M doing what he loved. He died with family members at his side. Kenneth was born on March 1, 1952 in Robstown, Texas to parents Woodrow and Louise Berry Schroeder (both deceased) of Banquete, Texas. Kenneths blessings included being a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather. His extended family and friends loved him very much and will miss him dearly. Kenneth was united in marriage with Barbara Ann Rains on August 12, 1972. They were blessed with 32 wonderful years of marriage and two beautiful daughters Jennifer Ann Schroeder Polk and her husband Christopher Eugene of Dallas Texas, and Julie Catherine Schroeder and fiancé Martin Edsel Boehm Jr. of Shiner Texas. Kenneth has one beautiful granddaughter Keagan Catherine Polk. A graduate of Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Kenneth received a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree in Economics in 1974. Kenneth worked as an insurance executive for 30 years. His insurance business associates will miss his innovative ideas and never ending energy. Although he thrived in the big city business world he never lost his small town honesty and integrity. He created numerous self insurance programs that serve the insurance needs of federal, state and local governments. His recent insurance programs also served the insurance needs of private companies. Kenneth was very active in the Westlake community. He held numerous volunteer leadership roles with Eanes Independent School District. His most memorable was 1996-1997 as President of the Westlake Chap Club and all the state championships. Kenneth was also a founding member of St. John-Neumann Catholic Church. He was a beautiful person with the wit and charm that always made him stand out. He was a loving and caring Christian man who made friends easily and kept loving relationships for a lifetime. He will be missed by many. In addition to his wife, children, and granddaughter Kenneth is survived by his mother and father-in-law, Tommy and Billie Rains of Raymondville, Texas, brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Kim Rains of Raymondville, Sophia and Tommy King of San Antonio, Jean and Larry Pearce of Rockport, Michael and Roxanne Rains of Lakeway. His sisters and brother include Patricia Schroeder Richey and husband James, Charleene Schroeder Renfro and her husband Bob, Norman Schroeder and his wife Dusty. He also has 25 loving nieces and nephews and many loving and caring cousins and relatives. The family will receive friends and family from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. on Friday, October 24, 2003 at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home Chapel. The rosary will be prayed after the Friday visitation. There will also be a public visitation at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home Saturday October, 25th from 9:00AM until 11:00AM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John-Neumann Catholic Church at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 25th. Burial will follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers include: J.P. Greve, John Pat Greve Jr., Ken Kirk, Sewell Street, Shawn Street, L.C. Meyer, Ronnie Tyler, and James Light. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John-Neumann Catholic Church building fund.
