Ken was born on September 19, 1958, in Austin, TX to the late Thomas and Mary Frances Edwards. Survivors include his wife Christina Dyer, siblings and their spouses Thomas and Debra Edwards, and David and Linda Edwards. His nieces and nephew include Kimberly Edwards, Thomas and spouse Allyson Edwards, Dani Edwards, Crystal Dyer and spouse Will Janowitz, and Maria Dyer.
After graduating from Reagan High School in 1976, Ken attended the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Electrical Engineering. He went on to earn an MBA at Texas State University.
During his 30-year career as a Marketing/Business Development Manager, Ken worked for Intel, Motorola, AMD, and other comparable companies. His career involved frequent travel to places such as China, Japan, India, and Europe. He won various awards for technical publications and team achievements.
After his retirement, Ken, along with his brother Thomas and other family members, achieved their dream of growing a vineyard on the Elgin, TX family farm. The vineyard has had several years of successful production. In addition, he spent time refining his woodworking skills to produce impressive pieces such as wood bowls and vases, wood-framed clocks, wood and acrylic pens and bottle stoppers.
In addition to business travel, Ken and spouse Christina pleasure traveled throughout the world. They also embarked on a major league baseball (MLB) park odyssey and successfully visited all 30 MLB ballparks in the United States and Canada.
Ken was both compassionate and empathetic and frequently donated to charitable causes. One of his most gratifying experiences was donating time to volunteer with Central Texas Meals on Wheels.
Ken will be deeply missed by all family and friends.
A celebration of life for Ken will be held Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas 78752.
