Kathryn Ann Johnson died March 27, 2022 surround by family. She is preceded in death by mother Betty Reinke and step-father Jerry Reinke, father James Talbot and daughter Ashley Nicole Henry. She is survived by husband Steve, son and daughter in-law Matt and Peggy Johnson of Manchaca, Texas, daughter Tracey Sparkman of Jarrell, Texas, son in law Jimmy Henry of San Angelo, Texas and grandchildren Kody Johnson and wife Whitney, Lesli Smith and husband Clint Smith, Brodie Sparkman, Brock Sparkman, Cord Sparkman, Cade Henry, Wyatt Henry and Trey Henry and great grandchildren Kaiden and Kansley.
Kathy retired after 29 years as a school administrator working in both Austin ISD and Lake Travis ISD.
She loved being with her grandkids and great grandchildren. She was an avid crafter, she loved to work on puzzles, knit, sew and most especially Diamond Art! Kathy loved to travel with her husband of 50 years. They traveled in their RV to most of the Western United States included Alaska. In addition, they also traveled to many other places including Spain, Mexico, Grand Cayman, Chicago, Nashville and Washington D.C.. Her two favorite places were Las Vegas and the beach. She also enjoyed spending time at their lake house with family and friends. Kathy and Steve both loved country and western dancing and listening to live music. Kathy was an avid reader her entire life. Kathy loved to watch sports and cheer on the Fighting Texas Aggies any chance she got! She also loved to watch her grandson’s play football, basketball and baseball!
She will be missed by many friends and family, and Rudy and Augie! In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be sent your favorite breast or ovarian cancer charity. A Rosary will begin Friday at 6:30 pm at Cook Walden at 6300 West William Cannon Drive Friday, April 1 and Visitation will follow. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 2 starting at 10:00 AM at Cook Walden with interment at Fall Creek Cemetery on Highway 71 in Spicewood, Texas. A reception will follow at the City of Lakeway Activity Center at 105 Cross Creek, Lakeway, Texas from 1:00-4:00 PM.
