
I dated Karen in High School. She was a Senior and I was a Junior. Karen and I always had so much fun.  She was wonderful on running the show and we were always busy going places.  She was so intelligent, witty,very compassionate and knew how to handle situations with ease. Karen had so much poise for her age and made me a better person. My Mother always enjoyed talking to Karen and thought she was extra special and said I should have married her but we were much too young to think about such things. Regretfully I did not stay up with her.  Signing the guest book comes late but the very best to her Husband, Ken (whom I never met) and family.



Karen and I were friends during our Houston and early Austin years. Then, as happens, life intervened, I moved to the East Coast and visited Austin less and less, and we drifted apart. The last time I saw her was probably eighteen or so years ago at a crazy party at our mutual (late) friend John Caulkinâ€™s house, and it was as if no time had passed, as it is with some lucky friendships. We had a blast. As we had many times before. Karen was seriously smart and dangerously funny, and did a wicked impression of Mick Jagger that never failed to make me laugh until I cried. Iâ€™m so glad I knew her.



We couldn't ask for better neighbors than Karen and Ken.  Karen was one of the kindest persons we've ever met.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Ken and all the family.    



Karen, I balance my life with the many things you taught me. You've always been my go to and I will miss you heart and soul.



Aunt Karen was a major part of my life from the time it began. Despite our geographical separation, I always felt the sense of goodness that she brought to my life and to the whole family. The times we spent together were easy, comfortable, and fun, and made me feel connected to a deep sense of family. I'm grateful that we got to spend a day together in the mountains last spring, and that we had the chance to talk very recently, on my birthday, which we did every year.
Although our time together was cut short, and I wish I could have gotten to know you better, I love you and I know you're looking down on us now with proudness (and a great sense of humor) in your heart.



Karen, I never met you. But Lisa and Chris told me so many wonderful things about you. I thank you for your life, and I wish you a peaceful journey. 



Karen was a dear soul. Wise beyond her years. I valued her opinion and listened to her advise every time she spoke. I will always cherish the wedding dress (that still hangs in my closet) that she designed and created for me when Jeff and I married. I never had a birth sister, but Karen filled that spot with her presence as sister-in-law extraordinaire. Karen was taken from us way too soon, but I will rejoice the day I see her once again in our Father's arms. Love you, Karen!



I first met Karen in 1979, I think, when she was living in Houston with Ken. A year or so  later, she was the maid of honor at Lisaâ€™s and my wedding in Denver. From those early days until now, I have always considered Karen not only my good friend but my own sister. She was charming, warm, intelligent, compassionate, funny and â€“ as everyone knows â€“ beautiful.  I shall miss this great lady and consider myself very fortunate to have known her for all these years. My deepest sympathies to Ken and everyone else who loved Karen â€“ and I know there are a lot of them, including me.

Taken far too soon. The few times that we saw Karen she was always smiling, as on the verge of a laugh. Surely she is in happy laughter now and with her mother. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this sad and confusing time. So very glad to have visited with her last springtime.



Karen had such a loving and caring soul. She was a great sister and friend. She will truly be missed by all. Rest in peace loving sister. Our sincerest condolences to you, Ken, and the rest of the family.

I remember Karen well and am saddened to hear of her passing.  My condolences to Ken and all of the family.  She was a very talented young woman and helped with our daughters wedding dress.  Rest in peace Karen.
