Joyce Skinner "Mom" passed away on February 4, 2014 at the age of 87. She was born in Winters, Texas to Willis Clifton Davis & Viola Ratliff Davis. She married the love of her life, Herbert Skinner, on August 22, 1944. Joyce was preceded in death by Herbert in 2007 and by her parents. The loss of her beloved Herbert caused a heartache that never lessened. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Herbie Kay Lundquist and husband Daniel Keith Lundquist; her son, Stephen Willis Skinner and wife LeAnne Skinner; her grandchildren, Amanda Lundquist Denton, Daniel Keith Lundquist, Jr. "Keith" and wife Angelica, Dean Kyle Lundquist and wife Lauri, Stephen Willis Skinner II "Willis" and wife Jennifer and EmilyAnne Skinner; her great-grandchildren, Sydney Jayne Denton, Daniel Keith Lundquist III "Trey", Heidi Gabriela Lundquist, Luke Davis Lundquist, Addison Faith Lundquist, Jackson Kyle Lundquist, Mason Dean Lundquist, Stephen Willis Skinner III "Dutch" and Boyd Herbert Skinner, all of Austin; her sister-in-law Charlotte Barker, two nieces, one nephew and many cousins. Joyce had a love for her family that was endless. She was on the founding committee for Highland Park Baptist Church and has faithfully served her church community. She was Past Queen of Ruh Neb Temple No. 64, Daughters of the Nile and a member of the Northwest Hills Garden Club.
Visitation will be Friday, February 7, 2014 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014. A Memorial Service conducted by Reverend Cheryl Kimble and Reverend Karl Gronberg will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11:30 am at Highland Park Baptist Church, 5206 Balcones Drive, Austin, Texas with a reception immediately following.
Pallbearers for Mom will be her five grandchildren: Amanda, Keith, Dean, Willis and EmilyAnne and two of her great-grandchildren, Sydney and Trey. Mom's honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren: Heidi, Luke, Addison, Jackson, Mason, Dutch & Boyd.
