Jorge Luis Rodriguez Sr., age 60 passed away peacefully on January 31, 2015 in his home surrounded by his loving family in Austin, Texas. He was born on August 10, 1954 in Monterrey, N. L. Mexico and moved to Austin during his childhood.
In 1992 Jorge established his own business JLR Passport Photo until his retirement in 2004 and very proudly became a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus on March 22, 2014. He also enjoyed spending time coaching his sons' soccer teams during their youth, and was a proud husband, father, and grandfather who had a strong faith in family and God.
Jorge was preceded in death by his mother, Minerva G. Flores and father, Salvador Rodriguez Alvarado.
Jorge is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Lucila V. Rodriguez; their two sons, Jorge Luis Rodriguez Jr. and his wife Zarin, Jose Luis Rodriguez and his wife Karissa; two grandchildren, John Michael and Lily Isabella Rodriguez; two brothers, Carlos Rodriguez and his wife Aurora, Armando Rodriguez; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank his extended family and friends for supporting him during his last years as well as his medical team - Mary West and Jack Harrison with Hospice Austin, Dr. Cishek and staff with Heart Speciality Care and Transplant Center, Dr. Daghestani, R.N. Kathy K. and R.N. Jennifer S. with ARC Advanced Care Coordination Clinic.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at St. Mary Cathedral. Interment will follow at Forest Oaks Cemetery.
