Hey, Ya’ll just wanted you to know about my dad. He lived 91 long and fruitful years. John Clinton Patton, of Austin, Texas passed away on January 17, 2019 at his home in Austin, Texas surrounded by family. He was born October 6, 1927, in East Bernstadt, Kentucky, and the son of late Herbert and Della (Little) Patton. He was the oldest of 4 siblings, all brothers.
On March 12, 1947 he married Helen Catherine Little and they had 4 children.
He served in the US Air Force as a Radio Technician for 22 years. He retired from the Air Force in July 1, 1968 as a Technical Sergeant. After the Air Force John worked at Texas Instruments for 22 years. This could be where our family got their work ethic from.
John lived in Kentucky, Wyoming, Arkansas, and finally permanent roots in Austin, Texas.
He loved to listen to country and bluegrass music, bowl on leagues with friends, and gardening, reading western books, enjoyed a good joke, helping others and hanging out with his family.
He was the most dependable, hardworking, trustworthy, dedicated and funny family man ever.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen C. Patton, his brothers, Billy, Glen, and Danny Patton and his grandson Brian Watkins.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Jo Anderson (Michael Anderson) of Austin, TX; daughter, Della Matthews (Jimmy Matthews) of Austin, TX; his son Jack Patton of St. Louis, MO and his son James Patton of Leander, TX; his grandchildren: Patrick Lee Anderson, Tracy Glynn Watkins, Laurie Patton Cortner, and Kristen Patton Geldersma; his great-grandchildren: Joseph, Heather, Brenden, Grant, Savana, Lila, Luke, Aliyah and one on the way; and one great-greatgrandchild, Brian Anthony.
We would like for ya’ll to remember him with his sense of humor, and loving personality.
