Catherine, I was so sorry to read of John's passing. He was one of the nicest people I knew and worked with at the Internal Revenue Service Center. I will never forget the week we spent putting a new top on my Volkswagon Convertible.

Our sympathy to the family.  We worked with John for many years at the IRS Service Center in Austin.  We worked in Personnel and John was the Facilities Management Branch Chief.  We had frequent interaction with John over the years and recall our times together with smiles.  He will be missed.

He had a great life!  I attribute all that I am to him.

He was born on April 2, 1930 in Pyatt, Arkansas.  He met my mother, Catherine, in high school and they were married when she graduated from college in 1952.  They moved to Mesquite, Texas in 1959 where he began working for the IRS.  We moved to Austin, Texas in 1968 where he lived for the rest of his life.

He died from complications from pneumonia in the afternoon on Saturday, July 8, 2017, surrounded by his family.
