Dear Ruby, Kathy and Michael, please accept my condolences on your loss. John and I became good friends when we were engineering students together in the mid 60's. He was a straight-shooter. That along with his irreverent manner on selected occasions endeared him to me and fixed him into my permanent memory as has happened with only a few others over the course of my life. I think often of him and it's invariably a pleasure to do so.

Kathy, I remember you so well as a happy little girl when you all lived out near Camp Mabry. Michael, I think I met you once when you were a preteen in some sort of deer season visit and recall that you favored your father a great deal. I'm sure both of you know what a great guy your Dad is (he's still with us though not in the same way).

I regret I'll be unable to attend tomorrow's services in person, but I'll be holding you all up in my prayers.

I am very saddened with the sudden loss of a great colleague and personal friend.  I had the honor to work with John on engineering projects only in the past few years since 2005 until just a couple of weeks ago.  

John had excellent knowledge in his areas of expertise, always worked hard and with great honesty.  His call came too early but John's work will always remain as an example of integrity in engineering.  

We all were touched by John's friendship and knowledge. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

Dear Ruby and family-  I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of John's passing.  I exchanged e-mails with him just five days ago on our recently completed work for Wison. He was a bright and highly competent engineer, a straight shooter, and fun to work with. We had even discussed potential projects to continue our collaboration. Dear Ruby,

I am deeply saddened by the news of John's passing.  I am so sorry we didn't get to have that extended visit we talked about at the reunion.

John and I became best friends when we were 12 years old in Boy Scouts, and lived near each other.  It was a friendship that lasted until graduation, when we lost touch with one another.  I regret those years lost from that point.

I've mentioned John many, many times in conversations with my wife, and hoped every reunion to find him.

I can't be there for services, but please know that I will pause and think kindly of him.
