Janice grew up in Sugarland, Texas. She went to high school at St. Agnes Academy where she was active in theater. This is where she met her husband of 19 years, Philip.
She attended the University of Texas for one year, was married in 1975. Brian was born in Austin in 1978 about 7 months before the family moved to San Antonio. Janice completed her bachelor degree in Accounting at UTSA.
Lindsey was born in 1980, followed by Kevan in 1984. In 1987 she moved the family to Austin where she resided until she died. She loved Austin’s eccentricity and life and was proud to raise her family here.
Janice worked as a CPA forensic auditor for several accounting firms in San Antonio and then later in Austin. Her latest endeavor was working for Family Elder Care of Austin. She found her calling caring for others and hugely enjoyed her work.
Janice has always loved animals and kept a menagerie of pets. She loved Dalmatians, Cardinals, guinea pigs and especially her cats. She filled her homes with animals and loved all with an adoration that was only surpassed by her love of her children.
Janice asked that flowers be eschewed in favor of donations to KUT Austin in her name. Thoughts and remembrances can be recorded on her voicemail: 512-659-2861. These recordings will be preserved and published online.
Her children are raising funds to defray the cost of interment in a beautiful hill country garden plot. Please see her son Brian if you are interested in helping out with this.
