After earning a BS degree from Ft. Hays State University in Hays, KS, he first worked for USF&G Insurance Company in Wichita, KS. Through a job offer he and his wife Nancy moved to Austin in 1986 where insurance continued to be his professional career. He retired from Lockton Cos. in 2011.
He is survived by his wife Nancy. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June 2016. Also surviving him are 2 brothers-in-law, 5 sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel at 2620 South Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704
