A.K.A. Jim Nokes
September 13, 1941 - May 22, 2018
Jim passed away peacefully the morning of May 22, 2018 at his home in Austin. He is preceded by his father James Curtis Nokes and his mother Anna Butler. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Cynthia Nokes, his daughters Elizabeth Serna, Karen Pape, Anna Jackson, two sons Kristopher Cornelius Nokes, James Michael Nokes, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Jim served his country for 20 years Army branch ranked as Sergeant First Class and was apart of the telecom investigation unit. Jim loved to travel while in the Army and also with his wife exploring every continent with the exception of Australia, and was an avid music listener as he collected hundreds of albums over the years. His willingness to learn helped him achieve a degree from Austin Community College, graduating with a degree in business and communications which continued after his college days as he had a true adoration of novels and science fiction. He would make several trips to the library every week. Jim leaves behind a legacy defined by unconditional and contagious love. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and loved his wife and children with all of his heart.
