James Edward Jones Jr.

Eddie Jones was born on August 8, 1955, in Tampa, FL, to James Edward Jones, Sr., and Elouise Berryhill Jones. A graduate of King High School’s Class of 1973, he went on to earn his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida.

Eddie's career was a testament to his visionary and hard-working nature. He rode the early waves of the semiconductor industry, working with Harris Semiconductor in Florida and Mostek in Dallas. After moving to Austin, he co-founded C3 Sales, which supplied memory and graphic processor chips to companies like Dell, Texas Instruments, and Compaq. His drive and ingenuity led him to a highly successful sales career, which he later channeled into real estate investment and development. Among his proudest accomplishments were the creation of a private ski lake in Creedmoor and a distinctive subdivision in Northwest Hills, both of which showcased his creativity, resourcefulness, and drive to succeed.

Eddie was a man of adventure and perseverance. Besides his family, his greatest joys came from skiing, both on the water and on the snow. His success as a competitive water skier translated into becoming a skilled snow skier, and he eagerly shared that passion with friends, especially on Powder Mountain in Utah, where he became an unofficial ambassador. He took pride in guiding others through the backcountry, always in pursuit of the perfect powder day.

In recent years, Eddie faced challenges associated with chronic pain and struggled with his mental health. Despite this, his love for family and his deep connection to the mountains remained constant in his life.

Eddie is predeceased by his parents and his niece, Kristin Foster. He is survived by his children, Ryan Jones and his wife Becca, Natalie, and Zachary; his wife, Holli Temple; his sister, Tammy Foster; and his nephew, Steven Foster.

Eddie’s love for adventure and his unmistakable presence on Powder Mountain will forever be remembered by his family and friends. His influence will live on in the people he touched and the projects he brought to life.
