James was preceded in death by his Mother, Dorothy Herring Carpenter in November of 2008 and his Father Ralph Beringer Carpenter in May of 1979.
James Carpenter was born in Burnet Texas, May 31, 1944, graduated High School in Seguin Texas, and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Texas in 1967 before starting his career in Graphic Design in Austin Texas, Owning his own Agency, where his work can be seen upon the Texas skyline and throughout the United States, followed by Residential Real estate within Bell County and finally retiring as a Graphic Designer for the Temple Daily Telegram in July of 2015.
Those who knew James, understood him best as “Jim”, his work ethic was unquestionable as was his affinity for his family and friends. His laugh could be heard from across the room, and his heart for humanity could be seen in all he did, thus 2001 James completed board certification as a Faith Based Clinical Therapist where he enjoyed supporting his community in Belton Texas through all manner of conversational engagement. As a young man James could be found with the Carpenter and Herring Families in Belton during the summer months for a little fun with family. James enjoyed mornings with his coffee, watching the birds and the family pets, afternoons out in the yard, and viewing storms from a window. In the evening one could find him in the kitchen, creating an extravagant meal or a simple snack to unwind from the day either of which wasn’t complete without desert.
James now looks from Heaven upon his wife, Nancy Doggett Carpenter; his daughter, Mitsi Gabrielle MacFarlane and his two grandchildren, Braedyn and Brynlee; his son, Joshua Christopher Carpenter, daughter-in-law, Michelle Saucedo Carpenter, and his two grandchildren, Joshua Jr. and Caleb; his brother, John Randall Carpenter and wife Teresa Baerwald Carpenter and niece, Jessica Carpenter Moore and nephew, John Russell Carpenter; as well as immeasurable family and friends.
There will be a Memorial Service held November 6th, 2019 in honor of Jim’s legacy and impact upon us all at Life Austin’s Chapel, 8901 Highway 71 West, Austin TX. 78735 from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm. Friends and Family are encouraged to attend.
“Blessed is the man who is steadfast under trial and perseveres when tempted; for when he has passed the test and been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him” – James 1:12
