Jaime Padron

On April 6th 2012 Jaime Padron answered God's calling with great valor and honor in making the ultimate sacrifice for his community. Jaime was born July 5, 1971 to Juan and Zoila Padron in San Angelo Texas.

Jaime is lovingly survived by his daughters, Livi, age 6, and Ari, age 10, and their mother, Amy Padron. Jaime also leaves his brother, Johnny Padron and his wife, Gloria Padron with their children, John and Gabby; sister, Linda Diaz with her husband, Steve Diaz and their children, Christina and Steven; brother, Joe Padron, along with the Cox family from Wyoming. In addition, Jaime was blessed with the friendship of many wonderful people all of whom will always be regarded as family. Some of his honorary brothers include, Matt Baldwin, Bryan Bylsma, Rob Perry, Jeff Davis, Rob Sparks, Rahim Kidd, Mike Sheffield, the Austin Police Department, Police Chief Art Acevedo and the San Angelo Police Department.

Jaime graduated from Christoval High School in 1989 where he loved to play football. He joined the United States Marine Corps that summer. While in the Marine Corps, he received numerous recognitions, commendations and medals for serving his country honorably. He was a Veteran of Desert Storm and a very proud Marine. Although he completed his tour of duty with the Marine Corps in 1997, he continued to live the Marine Corps way. Jaime then worked for his father at the family dairy for about a year before he went to work for the Eden Detention Center as a prison guard. He graduated from San Angelo Police academy in 1995 and bravely served the City of San Angelo for over 13 years as a patrol officer and also serving as a member of the gang unit and a narcotics investigator. Jaime passionately loved his job and was a member of several associations including the Texas Narcotics Officers association receiving many awards. He also received several recognitions from Crime Stoppers of San Angelo recognizing his outstanding service.

Jaime was honored during his service with the Austin Police Department and received the following recognitions: Academic Achievement - July 2010; Master Police Officer - July 2010; Safe Driving Ribbon - 2012; and Purple Heart with Valor…. April 2012.

Jaime received a Bachelor of Art degree in Psychology with a supporting degree in Criminal Justice, graduating with honors from Angelo State University in 2004 all while working a full time job and raising a family.

He was a compassionate and caring man, who loved spending quality time with his family and his every devotion in life was for his daughters. His courage, strength and ability and love for his family is a tribute to the two people that gave him life; his parents. Giving him and all his family unconditional love showing him respect and honor and love for our God. He always greeted friends and family with a smile and genuine laughter throughout when he was around. Jaime was regarded by many as having a contagious smile.

He had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and loved riding often and collecting memorabilia. Jaime also loved to play golf and often times said he wished he had more time in the day to play. He was an avid runner participating in several charitable marathon events.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, on Tuesday, the 10th of April 2012, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.

Funeral services will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 11th of April 2012, at Shoreline Church, 15201 Burnet Road, Austin, Texas. Honors will follow outside the church.

Officer Padron will then be taken to San Angelo, Texas and placed in the care of Johnson’s Funeral Home for additional services. A Rosary will be recited at six o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 12th of April 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 301 W. 17th Street, San Angelo, Texas.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 13th of April 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 301 W. 17th Street, San Angelo, Texas. US Marine Corps Honors will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Park, 4989 FM Road 1223, San Angelo, Texas.

The Padron family would like to thank their friends and family and all Law Enforcement agencies for their support and prayers throughout this most difficult time.

Jaime, we will miss you for this lifetime but will be elated to see you again in God's Kingdom. Semper fi.
