Irma Silguero was born on March 12, 1954 to Adolfo and Isabele Silguero of Brownsville, TX and she was the youngest of 5 children (Maria, Viola, Graciela, and Adolfo). Although she grew up in a modest home, she had the privilege to be near South Padre Island and enjoyed time at the beach soaking in the sun.
Irma moved to Austin, TX in her early 20's and made it her home. She showed a great deal of compassion and love for her patients when she was employed as a Home Health Care professional and ultimately for her Mother as she was her primary caretaker until her last day.
Irma was calm and serene in her Catholic faith. Her character and temperament can best be shown from the time she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. Although she lived her daily life in a great deal of pain, everyday was a new day and she exemplified strength and determination in everything she did.
Irma was called to rest with our Heavenly Father on January 7, 2024. She is survived by her companion, Manuel Rios, her only daughter, Erica Rodriguez and grandchildren, America Mireles, Jacob Rodriguez, and Zion Rodriguez. She is also survived by her two sisters, Maria Ofelia Lopez and Graciela Zepeda. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Adolfo Silguero, and siblings, Adolfo Silguero Jr. and Viola Robles.
