Harvey W. New passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2007 in Austin. Harvey was born June 18, 1918 in Creedmoor, Texas. He grew up farming and worked for Herman F. Heeps Ranch, where he worked for ten years. He worked for the Texas Highway Department as an asphalt foreman for 25 years before retiring. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and relatives. He always had a funny quote to say to make you laugh Ill be a s -egg-mule, Lets go throw the bull over the fence some hay, or Its nice to be important, but its more important to be nice. Harvey was preceded in death by his wife Leona New, daughter Annie Lavelle Stranadle, and son Morris Dwaine New. He is survived by sons Mark, Travis, and Rick New, and daughter Sharon Williams and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Live Oak Cemetery, Manchaca, Texas.
