Marshall Gail (Bowen) Lively, born December 8th, 1954, went home to her mama and Jesus on February 25, 2011. Her final journey was peaceful and she was seen off by her family and many friends. Gail worked for 27 years at National Western Life and leaves many wonderful friends and memories from her time there. Aware that her days on earth may be shortened, she made the best of the past few months. She joined her “big sister” on vacations to the Hill Country and Sedona, Arizona. Her last and most special project was a surprise trip to Las Vegas for her husband’s birthday. She pulled it off, and joined by good friends, the birthday surprise was a great success. Having many more things to do, she had completed the most important. She was tired and said she was ready to go home.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Carroll Routh and Mary Esta Hallas Bowen; parents-in-law Mary Ellen Lively Burroughs and Burt Glen Lively; and grandparents.
Survived by her beloved husband of 21 years, Glen A. Lively; sons, Shawn Powell and wife Natalie, and Christopher Lively and wife Heather; daughter, Julie White and husband Bruce; sister, Nancy Davenport and husband Bill; father-in-law, Larry Burroughs; grandchildren, Sarah and Nicole Powell; Malika Harder, Brittany and Billy Flippo; Victoria Lively; and Cameron, Megan, and Tyler Stone.
