Elizabeth Laney Nichols

ELIZABETH LANEY NICHOLS 03/12/1915 – 03/25/2007 Elizabeth Nichols went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 25, 2007, at age 92. She was blessed with a sweet spirit, a winsome sense of humor, and a firm faith in Christ. Elizabeth was predeceased by her loving husband, Earl, in 1973. She was also predeceased by her parents, Ella Young Laney and Benjamin Laney, and all her brothers and sisters. She loved the Lord and all His creatures, especially the four-legged ones. She was most fond of cats, and would generously provide love, food, shelter, and medical care for any strays that showed up at her door. Elizabeth was an active member of Crestview Baptist Church where she worked many years with the Children’s Department. She dearly loved to play bridge and she was an excellent player. Elizabeth graduated from S. F. Austin High School and Mayfair Taylor Secretarial School. She retired from the Texas State Board of Architectural Examiners. Elizabeth is survived by many loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and by many great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Mona Laney and Nell Nichols, and brother-in-law, Drew Nichols The family wishes to thank Heartland Health Care Center for the many years of loving care. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar, Austin, Texas with Pastor Bruce Murray officiating.
