She retired from the VA in Austin, Texas in 1985 after 30 years of Federal Government service. The last 13 years she worked as the Veteran’s Administration Data Processing Center’s travel clerk. She worked at the FAA in Miami, Florida before moving to Austin, Texas.
She was actively involved in the Daughters of the Nile, RUH NEB TEMPLE NO. 64. Her passion was quilting and making Santa dolls for children. She donated many quilts and dolls to the Shriner’s Children Hospital, family, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Missildine, and grandson, Stephen Missildine.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry Missildine (Ann) of Fairview, Texas; Ronald Missildine of Simi Valley, California; Thomas Missildine (Audrea) of Banks, Alabama. She has 5 grandchildren: Michael Missildine (Kimberly) of Texas, John Missildine of Japan, Joe Missildine ( Yun Kyung) of Korea, Linda Letson (Patrick) of Wisconsin, Marc Missildine ( Amanda) of Arizona. She has 6 great grand children: , Gavin Missildine , Camden Letson, Casen Letson, Ellie Missildine, Veronica Missildine, and Annie Missildine. She has a brother in law, Robert Missildine (Faith), and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Accord Palliative and Hospice Care for the exceptional care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Cook-Walden Funeral Home in Austin, Texas on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 1:00pm. Visitation with the family will begin at noon. Burial will follow in Forest Oaks at 2pm.
