On September 19, 2021 Our Heavenly Father called our beloved Deixter to her eternal home. She was born in Moca, Puerto Rico on July 2, 1937 to Delfin Jimenez and Juana Aviles who preceded her in death.
Deixter was a faithful member of St. Catherine's of Siena Catholic Church in Austin, Texas and a founding member of the Mission to Mexico. Deixter was preceded in death by her sister Aida and her husband, Victor Serrano, who she shared 60 loving years with.
She is survived by her brother Alejandro Jimenez, her eight children and their spouses, Glenys, Ydsia and Bill Slagle, Victor and Nirna, Larry and Robin, Kenneth and Leni, Ronald and Lisa, Jeffrey and Renee, Melissa and Mark Hernandez, her twenty-two grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Deixter devoted her life to serving her family and community. She was known for her kind heart and abundance of love for those around her.
A visitation for Deixter will be held Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749 with a rosary service to follow at 7:00 PM. The funeral mass will take place on Monday, September 27, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Rd, Austin, TX 78749 with the graveside service to follow immediately at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749 with a reception to follow in the Hill Country Event Center.
