David was born August 22, 1955, in Uvalde, Texas to Dale O. and Sally Carr Hall. His early years were spent in Crystal City, Texas. David was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church. He was a seventh generation Texan whose ancestors came with the Old Three Hundred. In 1969 he and his family moved to Austin, Texas, where he graduated from Lanier High School.
David worked as a carpenter for 30 years and was a very skilled craftsman. During his career he made many friends all over Austin. David loved animals – his pet turtle, two cats, and the numerous birds and butterflies he worked so hard to attract to his yard. He was a creative inventor who held a patent for an alarm to alert homeowners of severe weather in their immediate area. In recent years David joined together a community of radio-controlled aerobatic enthusiasts, making many new friends worldwide.
David will always be remembered as a kind, sweet, honest and joyful man.
David is survived by his parents Dale and Sally Hall, brother Raymond Hall, brother and sister-in-law Greg and Karen Hall, sister and brother-in-law Donna and Raja Korban, niece Stephanie Kruger and husband Dustin Kruger, niece Elyssa Korban, and numerous extended family members.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, January 1 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar, Austin, and a funeral service at 2:00 pm, Thursday January 2 at the same location with graveside services to follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks in Pflugerville.
