He graduated from McCallum High School in Austin, Texas in May of 1985. He enjoyed playing golf with the team and was involved in scouting. He graduated from Texas State Technical College with an Associate’s Degree in Supermarket and Retail Management in Waco, Texas in 1992. Upon graduation, he worked for H-E-B Grocery in Austin. Later he worked for AIM Fund Service. Starting in 2004 he worked at STATCO and was most recently employed by Covert Buick in Austin. Clifford would like to thank all his employers for the opportunity to work. He enjoyed the purpose and dignity work gave him.
Clifford will be known for his courage, gentle nature, quick wit and his love of family. His sharp comments could light up a room. He is predeceased by his father, Cliff Collins and sister in law, Kathy Govin Collins. He is survived by his mother, Ann Collins; his five siblings and their spouses, Michael Collins, Katherine Griffin, Frank and Trav McNiff, Paul and Shawna Collins, and Carol Collins. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews who loved him; Gordon Griffin III, Chriss Griffin, Frank McNiff III, Joseph McNiff, Jack McNiff, Carolyn McNiff, Paul McNiff, Caitlyn Collins and Calli Collins.
A Holy Rosary will be at Cook Walden Funeral Home at Lamar at 7:00 pm on Monday, September 18, 2017. A Funeral Mass will be at St. Theresa Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
