Charles David Carlton of Dripping Springs, Texas, passed away on September 1, 2022, at the age of 80. He was born on January 2, 1942, in Hot Springs, AR. He grew up in Lake Village Arizona fishing on the lake with his brothers Mike and Chris and riding his horses Dick and Buckshot.
He graduated from Lakeside High School in 1960 and then attended Southern State College, earning an Associate’s Degree in engineering. He joined the navy and served on the U.S.S. Saratoga.
He worked as a design engineer in manufacturing, designing office and laboratory furniture.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Dolores Carlton.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and Eli del Angel and grandsons Noah, Ethan, and Chase, his son and daughter-in-law Alex and Kit Carlton, his son and daughter-in-law Colin and Kate Carlton, and granddaughter Penny as well as his brothers Mike and Chris Carlton.
Dad was solely devoted to his wife and family. His favorite days were spent with his grandkids at the movies and parks and eating vanilla milkshakes. His passions were aviation, football, boating, bass fishing, and reading spy and WWII novels.
The family would like to thank our extended family and friends for the care and compassion they showed our family and Dad in his final days.
A visitation for Charles will be held Friday, September 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 9, 2022 at 12:00 PM. A graveside service will occur Friday, September 9, 2022 at 1:00 PM.
Family and friends are invited to attend a luncheon in Dad’s honor at Flores Restaurant on William Cannon immediately following the burial.
