Carol Josephine Storter Masi was born to George William Storter and Alexandra Morosowa Storter on October 16, 1954 in Brownsville, Texas. Carol passed away following cardiac arrest on December 14, 2012 at St. David's Hospital in Austin.
A beautiful redhead, Carol enjoyed track and swimming during her years at what is now Homer Hannah High School. At Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, Carol pledged the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.
After graduation, Carol taught school in Sinton. Following her move to Austin, Carol worked at Stewart Title, Texas Department of Community Affairs, Texas Automobile Dealer's Assn., Texas Trial Lawyers Assn., Associated General Contractors of Texas, and the Texas Department of State Health Services.
Carol was a wonderful cook and made some of the world's best pralines. She enjoyed gardening, growing both vegetables and flowers. Carol loved animals and took exceptionally good care of her cats. A fun loving person, Carol delighted in wearing a Santa hat, reindeer antlers, a jingle bell necklace and blinking light earrings during the holidays.
Carol was a very loving and generous person. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Leonard Masi; her stepson, Leonard Masi, Jr; her mother, Alexandra Storter; her sisters Jane Kline (Bill Elliott) and Betty Rogers (Mark); her nephews, Jeff Rogers and Ryan Rogers (wife, Amber, children, Bradley and Annalise).
Carol was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents in Russia and her paternal grandparents, Betty Knight Storter and Neal S. Storter; her father, George William Storter; and her cousin, Carol Keller.
A memorial service will be held on December 22, 2012 at 10:00 in the chapel at Buckner Villas, Campbell Center, 11110 Tom Adams Drive.
