Beloved wife, mother, and sister, Carol Ann Burgess Fagan, 55, of Austin, Texas died May 17, 2011 from cancer. She was born on November 12, 1955 in Laredo, Texas and raised at the family store. After graduating from United High School in 1973, she went to the University of Texas at Austin and upon receiving her bachelor of science degree in 1979 became a registered and licensed dietician, working in Austin, San Antonio and Houston during her career.
In 1990, she married Matthew P. (Matt) Fagan, a communications manager at 3M Company in Austin. They lived in the Central Texas area, enjoying the local culture and supporting organizations such as the Odyssey School, Austin Recovery, NAMI Austin, and the Austin chapter of Palmer Drug Abuse Program.
She is preceded in death by her parents Eugene L. Burgess and Rosa Omedes Burgess, as well as her aunt, Josefina (Pepita) Omedes of Laredo and uncle, Carlos Omedes, of Barcelona, Spain. She is survived by her husband Matt, daughter Alexa, sons Matthew, Jr. and Liam, all of Austin; her brother, Gene L. Burgess of Laredo, and sister, Marcela Burgess of San Jose, Costa Rica, and many in-laws, cousins, and cherished friends.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. A service celebrating Carol's life and all that she meant to us will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 201l in the Chapel of Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Austin, Texas.
