Carl George Beard Jr.

Carl George Beard, Jr, better known as “George”, or “Beard” by his golf buddies, was born May 20, 1924, to Carl George Beard and Mary Inez Helton Beard in Austin, Texas. He was predeceased by both of his parents, a brother Bob and the love of his life, Fran. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 1, 2023.

He is survived by son Don Beard & wife Brenda; daughter Nancy White & husband Donovan; grand children, Aaron Beard(Mindy); Jay Beard(Angeline) & Allison White; great grandchildren Jonny, Marin, Ada, Oscar, Eli, Zoom & Mupa, a sister-in-law, Lois Mayes, his beloved and faithful dog Bea, and numerous cousins, nieces & nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Visiting Angels, Tiffani, Samantha, Dave, Vicky & Janay and his primary care giver Jane Selvera for the care and compassion that they extended towards George these last 20 months. Additionally, to Angie Reyes, his housekeeper for many years & to Lois Mayes, who helped out so much, providing him food and companionship while watching Longhorn sports on TV on the weekends.

A visitation & memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Weed/Corley/Fish Funeral Home Parkcrest location at 5416 Parkcrest Drive in Austin. The visitation will start at 10:00AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the charity of one’s choice.
