Dr. Calvin Ballard Jr.

Dr. Ballard was born June 25, 1934 in Houston, Texas. He was married to his beloved wife of 49 years, Olivia Ballard on October 10, 1964. Dr. Ballard served in the U.S. Airforce for 24 ½ years. He was an associate minister under the direction of Pastor Robert Walker, Sr. at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church.

Dr. Ballard obtained his Associates of Applied Science in 1983, Bachelor of Arts in 1988, Certificate of the Gospel Ministry in 1995, Masters of Divinity in 1999, Certificate of Ordination in 2001, and his Doctorate of Theology in 2009.

He is survived by his wife, Olivia W. Ballard of Austin and his four children: Rhonda Ballard of Austin, Donna Cater of DeSoto, David Ballard of Manor, and Calvin Ballard III of Irving. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and countless close relatives and family friends.

The Ballard family would like to give thanks to the many people who have graciously prayed for our family and offered condolences during this most difficult time of sorrow and mourning.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, February 5th at Cook Walden Funeral Home on N. Lamar in Austin from 6 pm – 8 pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 6th at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church at 10:00 am. Dr. Ballard will be laid to rest at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen immediately following the funeral service.
