Billy Joe (Bill) Predmore passed away at his home in Austin, Texas on November 11, 2024, at the age of 79, with his wife, daughters, and son-in-law by his side and his favorite Neil Diamond songs softly playing in the background, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia.
Bill was born on May 29, 1945, in Guymon, Oklahoma to parents Harold and Marie Predmore (both deceased). He had one older brother, Leroy Predmore, who recently passed away, and an older sister, Janice Gass, also deceased. They grew up on a farm in the panhandle of Oklahoma where Bill learned his trademark hard work and toughness. Bill went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University with a Mathematics degree. Early in college, he married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Kay. Bill and Sandra had recently marked their 60th wedding anniversary. They have two daughters, Kristina and Kathy, who they raised in Clear Lake City outside of Houston, TX.
Bill was a successful businessman, leaving Lockheed Martin only a few years after graduating from college to start his own company, System Software, with his long-time business partner. The company developed and installed software for the oil and gas industry and enjoyed many decades of success. And of course, with owning his own company came a few perks, including the opportunity to serve at the Space Center Rotary Club, where he met many fellow business colleagues, of which several became treasured friends for life. Most important to Bill, however; was his ability to practice or play golf each and every day of the week. To say Bill was an avid golf fan is an understatement. He loved the game in every way, and he was good at it as well. He won multiple International Rotary Club Championships and even qualified for the USGA Senior Amateur Open in 2001.
Bill will be remembered most for his sense of humor (even amid his declining health), his passion for the game of golf, his devotion to the Catholic faith, and his enduring love for his beloved wife Sandra. He is survived by his wife, his two daughters Kristina Godina (husband John) and Kathy Thomas, his five grandchildren Cody Cashman, Clay Cashman, Madeline Rodriguez, Nicholas Rodriguez, Owen Herbig; as well as his brother-in-law Pat Gass, several nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friends and golf buddies.
Bill’s family would like to thank all the caregivers who so lovingly assisted with his care the last year and a half of his life.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church located at 4800 Convict Hill Rd in Austin, TX on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 2:00pm. A Celebration of Life will be held later that day at 5:00pm at Grey Rock Golf Club, located at 7401 State Highway 45 in Austin, TX.
