Bertha Olivia Dugger Faulkner Abney Gibson Arthur Bertha Olivia Dugger Faulkner, Abney, Gibson, Arthur, 102, formerly of Edna and Austin, Texas, died October 11, 2003 after an extended illness. For the past ten years, she has been living in Beeville, Texas. A family graveside service was held on Monday, October 13th, at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were conducted by Berthas nephew, Pastor Ted Nelson. Bertha was born September 26, 1901 on the J.B. Oatman Farm in Evelyn, Texas near Lockhart in Caldwell County, Texas. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Dugger of Edna, Texas. Bertha had three siblings, Joe Carroll Dugger, Mrs. Bess Nelson Ramsey and Dr. Charlie Dugger, all deceased. Bertha married Wendell D. Faulkner, April 1, 1920. They had four sons, Wendell, Joe Carroll, Royce and Gene. Bertha married and survived the deaths of four wonderful men, Wendell Faulkner, Skipper Abney, Frank Gibson, and Howe Arthur, all of whom were loved by the family. Bertha is survived by Royce and Donna Mae Faulkner of Austin, and Gene and Mary Faulkner of Colleyville, Texas; daughters-in-law, Janet Faulkner of Austin, and Donna Lee Faulkner of Beeville; step daughter-in-law, Thea Gibson of Houston; and step-daughters, Jan Delk, and Millie Scott of Austin. She was preceded in death by her eldest sons, Wendell Dugger Faulkner of Pecos, and Joe Carroll Faulkner of Beeville; and stepson Buddy Gibson of San Antonio. Bertha is NaNa to her eleven grandchildren, and Sister to her seven nieces and nephews. Shes been blessed with fifteen great grandchildren.
