The mother of 4, grandmother of 10, and great grandmother of 5; Barbara was born on July 31, 1929 in Akron, Ohio to Peter and Ann Kurylak. She is preceded in death by husband Frank C. Rocco, son Matthew Rocco, brother John Kurylak, and sister Rose Mercurio.
Barbara was a devout catholic who spent much of her time volunteering for the Ladies of Charity and the St. Vincent De Paul Society of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. She also volunteered in the St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store on Congress Ave. for almost 20 years. Most of the joy in her life was found fishing, gardening, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her 3 sisters, Kitty, Nancy and Patty, 3 children, Chris Rocco and his 4 children, Laura and husband Craig Groves and two children Pierce and Michael, Natalie and husband Mark Koller and two children Sienna and Scarlett, John Rocco, and Jessica and husband J.R. Son Mickey Rocco and wife Dana and their 3 children Anthony, Angela and husband Jason Blair, and Nicholas. Daughter Monica Rocco and husband John Rubatzky and their 3 children Taylor and wife Alexis and son Logan, Trevor and Shelby.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, rosary to be recited starting at eight o’clock, on the 25th of May, 2012, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home 6100 North Lamar blvd. Austin, Texas, 78752. . Light refreshments will be provided by the family through Cook-Walden Funeral Home Catering Services.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at eleven o’clock in the morning, on the 26th of May, 2012, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church 4311 Small Dr. Austin, Texas 78731.
