Alice R. Dahl

Alice received her nurse's training at St. John's Hospital in Taylor, Texas. She married and became a mother of eight children. In addition, she worked two jobs to support them as a single mother, a true example of the ethic of hard work. She retired after 33 years at the Texas School for the Blind and also worked for 20 years at a local nursing home.

She was preceded in death by her son, Edward Lee Dahl, by her parents, one brother and two sisters. She is survived by seven children, Suzie Dahl, Joyce Dailey (Terry), Don Dahl, Pat Oglesby (Coco), Rick Dahl (Pam), Carolyn Mirelez (Raymond, deceased) and Diane Christians. Grandchildren are Melissa & Jason Dailey, Mandy Oglesby & Liz Costa (Cristiano), Brad (Hillary), Ross & Paige Dahl, Tracy, Kimberly & Michelle Mirelez, and Nicole & Haley Christians. The grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Alice's hobbies were sewing and cooking. She was a wonderful mother, and touched our lives in countless ways. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Everyone loved going to Memaw's house!

Services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on North Lamar. Interment will follow at 10:15 a.m. at Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
