Alan Edgar Gohlke was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on February 16, 1944 to Edgar Gohlke and Opal Wimberley. Alan graduated from Austin High School in 1963 where he was a member of FFA. He worked at Goodwill, Tomlinson Feed Store, Marbridge Ranch, trained at Darryl Royal workshop, then worked in the food industry until retirement. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed bowling, biking. He died in Austin at age 69.
Alan is predeceased by his father, Edgar Gohlke, and his mother, Opal Wimberley-Gohlke-Waterfield. He is survived by sister, Jeanie Ribelin, niece, Michelle Ribelin, aunts, uncles and cousins; special friend Cindy Whitaker.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, on Wednesday, the 10th of April 2013, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Thursday, the 11th of April, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow in Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, Pflugerville, Texas.
